Glen Ewin Estate Weddings
Lakes, sweeping lawns and an 1850s timber barn, about half an hour from the city in the Adelaide Hills.
Getting married at Glen Ewin!?
What I’ve learned Glen Ewin gives you two completely different weddings depending on which side of the estate you book. The Pulpshed is the old timber barn down among the stone buildings, rustic and warm, with the lawns running straight down to the lake. The Gatehouse is the modern one, glass doors all the way around, a deck over the pond and views across the whole estate.
The lake is the hero for portraits, and it’s a short walk from the reception, so last light photos don’t mean dragging you away from your guests for half the night.
Everything is on the one property too, ceremony on the lawn, drinks, photos and the reception, so nobody is getting back in a car once the day starts.
Fun facts
Glen Ewin is one of my most filmed venues, with five weddings here across 22 Wedding Films and Brad and Karina Weddings.
My Glen Ewin weddings have landed in February, March, August and September, so it works in summer and in the cooler months.
I’ve worked alongside photographers Ben Huckstepp, Dannielle McPherson, Richelle Casson, Davish Photography and my Brad and Karina Weddings business partner Karina here.
Two wedding venues on the one estate - The Pulpshed, a timber barn dating back to the 1850s, and The Gatehouse with its floor-to-ceiling glass and deck over the pond.
George McEwin took up the land in 1843 and started the Glen Ewin jam label here, a brand IXL ended up buying in the 1980s.
The Wauchope family bought the property in the early 1990s and brought it back to life, and it’s still family owned today.
The heritage orchard grows the figs for Pot & Still’s fig gin.
It’s about 30 minutes from the Adelaide CBD at 43 Lower Hermitage Road, near Houghton.

Documentary wedding videographer, Adelaide.
I'm a wedding videographer based in Gawler. I've been doing this for 8 years now and have filmed over 200 weddings across Adelaide, the Barossa, the Hills and McLaren Vale.
When you book 22 Wedding Films, you get me. I'm the one who replies to your email, the one who turns up on the morning, and the one who finishes your film. No handing you off to someone you've never met.
I've been filming and documenting people since I was 15. I went full time about 8 years ago and I still get a kick out of it. Getting to film real people on one of the biggest days of their life is the best part of this job.

At Ebony and Mason’s wedding in March we had a 4pm ceremony on the main lawn, then slipped out for last light photos at 7pm, between the main course and the speeches, with sunset at 7:34pm. That’s the timing I’d copy for any summer or autumn date. In winter the light is gone before 5:30pm, so portraits happen straight after the ceremony and you’re back inside with your guests before dark.
