The Manor Basket Range Weddings
A stone castle tucked into the Adelaide Hills, with the chapel, the reception and your room for the night all on the one property.
Getting married at The Manor!?
What I’ve learned The Manor is the only venue on my list where your guests drive in and there is a castle waiting for them, and it gives the whole day a bit of a storybook feel before anything has even started. Everything happens on the one property, getting ready, the ceremony, photos and the reception, so nobody is jumping in a car between locations and we get more time for the fun stuff.
The garden chapel is tiny, copper roof, a working bell, and a pond and waterfall right beside it, so the ceremony backdrop takes care of itself. For portraits the driveway and the fountain out the front of the castle are the shot everyone wants, then the stone walls, the gardens and the terrace give us completely different looks without leaving.
Both reception rooms have open fireplaces, which is why The Manor is one of the few Hills venues I’d happily film in the middle of winter.
Fun facts
The Manor is my second most filmed venue alongside Howard Vineyard, behind only Longview Vineyard.
My Manor weddings have landed in June, September, October, November, December and January, so it really does work all year round.
Two reception rooms - the Pinchbeck Ballroom seats up to 220 and the Warwick Terrace Room up to 120, and for something tiny The Parlour seats 22.
There are 12 townhouse style suites on site for you and your family to stay the night.
The castle was built by an eccentric Englishman named Albert Pinchbeck (the ballroom is named after him), spent years as Camelot Castle, then had a multi-million dollar refurbishment to become The Manor.
It’s under 30 minutes from the Adelaide CBD at 762 Lobethal Road, Basket Range.

Documentary wedding videographer, Adelaide.
I'm a wedding videographer based in Gawler. I've been doing this for 8 years now and have filmed over 200 weddings across Adelaide, the Barossa, the Hills and McLaren Vale.
When you book 22 Wedding Films, you get me. I'm the one who replies to your email, the one who turns up on the morning, and the one who finishes your film. No handing you off to someone you've never met.
I've been filming and documenting people since I was 15. I went full time about 8 years ago and I still get a kick out of it. Getting to film real people on one of the biggest days of their life is the best part of this job.

Sunset at The Manor
Sunset is the bit couples forget to plan for. Here’s when the light goes, so you can build your run sheet around it.
October - 7:28pm, golden hour from 6:45pm
November - 7:57pm, golden hour from 7:10pm
December - 8:24pm, golden hour from 7:40pm
January - 8:31pm, golden hour from 7:45pm
February - 8:09pm, golden hour from 7:25pm
March - 7:33pm, golden hour from 6:50pm
April - 7:07pm before daylight saving ends, 5:57pm the weekend after
May - 5:20pm, golden hour from 4:35pm
June - 5:09pm, golden hour from 4:25pm
July - 5:21pm, golden hour from 4:35pm
August - 5:43pm, golden hour from 5:00pm
September - 6:05pm, golden hour from 5:20pm
My two most recent Manor weddings both had a 4pm ceremony, one in November and one in late December, and both times we slipped out between speeches for sunset portraits somewhere around 7:45 to 8pm. Build a 15 minute break into the run sheet between speeches and you’ll get the best shots of the day. In winter it flips, golden hour starts around 4:25pm in June, so we’d head out for portraits straight after the ceremony and everyone is inside by the fire before dark.
